Sections
The use of sections helps give an understanding of how internal heights; location of floor levels, staircases, etc can interact with each other.
By positioning a section in the correct place, a substantial amount of information can be portrayed on one drawing that can bring a design to life, such as how a double height space can be overlooked by a first floor landing, which then gives a connection from one part of the building to another.
This impression can be difficult to achieve and express through any other form of drawing technique than a section.
